and vector fields. Pattern matching allows the user to provide an
example feature or structure, and the system finds similar structures
within the data set. This applies to both space and time. We apply
different approaches from topology-based to vision-based. A discussion
at the end will allow us to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of
each method and can lead us to finding new approaches.

In the course of the Visual Computing research seminar Dr. Evgeny Gladilin from the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) Gatersleben will give a talk with subsequent discussion about the topic Aufgaben der Bildanalyse in quantitativer Pflanzenforschung.
